Welcome to The Electric Current Rundown podcast episode number 73.

And I’m your host, Phil Defiance, and I’ll always say I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.

And what I’m going to be talking about in this episode includes a continuation of where I left off on the topic of how to finally stick with a fitness habit.

And I’m going to talk about my views on electric cars and related thoughts.

And I’m going to talk about, based on an article I read, which was titled, a mom said no to a stranger’s child and got an unexpected reaction.

And was she wrong?

So continue on where I left off on the topic of how to finally stick with a fitness habit.

So on top of the couple other things I mentioned in the last episode, another thing that can help you stick to a fitness habit includes getting encouragement from others.

Like that’s actually a really good point.

I mean, if you’re feeling like what you’re doing is kind of hard, then why not talk to family or friends or gym buddies and get encouragement from them to make you feel like you’re making progress and you’re headed in the right direction.

Because when you get social help from others in such matters, it makes you feel better.

It makes you feel like you’re gaining a social understanding that’s improving your social image in front of others.

And that right there gives you encouragement to continue on with this fitness habit.

Because obviously a fitness habit is good for you.

Physically and generally, when it comes to health.

So, I mean, getting that kind of encouragement from others can certainly help you keep going at it.

Because then it makes you feel like, ooo, like people are noticing that I’m like improving myself.

And people are even encouraging me.

So like, I mean, seek that encouragement.

Like talk to others about your, I mean, the things that you’ve been accomplishing.

And then people will be like taking notice.

And suddenly, they’ll be telling you, yeah, keep doing it.

And they’ll tell you that you’re really doing good things for yourself.

And like, when it comes to that social aspect, like it certainly can be helpful in getting you to continue doing it.

It makes a lot of sense, right?

But okay, another thing, like the last thing on the list of things that I’ll mention, includes visualizing success, even visualizing failure, because the thing is that, I mean, you gotta be real with yourself.

Yes.

I mean, success is one thing you always, I mean, if you’re thinking about it, like, oh, you wanna visualize success, if you’re gonna visualize anything, but then again, be real with yourself too, visualize failure too.

But like, I mean, some people don’t even do neither.

I mean, yes, you gotta visualize success.

And if you’re not doing that, then do it.

And that’s like, I mean, visualizing the, like, healthier self that you’re gonna become.

But it doesn’t have to just be that far ahead because that might be months from now or weeks from now, maybe a year from now.

You don’t just think that far ahead.

Think even in the terms of a few days or a couple weeks, like visualize that success that you’re aiming for.

And I mean, it doesn’t have to be like a massive success.

It could just be like a small success.

And I mean, thinking about just a couple weeks, obviously that’s generally smaller success, but still visualize that.

But at the same time, visualize failure.

And I mean, also I want to say when it comes to visualizing success, that’s not just results, that’s also success of sticking to the habit.

Visualize yourself sticking to the habit.

Visualize that success more than one way, including sticking to the habit as well as the results, both ways.

But then again, there’s failure.

Yes, visualize failure too.

But either way, so okay, I’m going to finish off on that topic, and that’s what’s topics after this quick break.

So on this quick break, I’m going to say, everybody likes really good designs as well as knowing their online order will come quickly.

Go to plainbowl.com to get the designs you desire.

Your order will come quick like you expect, and while you wait, I mean, while you want quick delivery, you’ll have patience for your order, because when it does come, you’re going to have the kind of design you’ll love.

It will make you stand out, and people will notice, and you’ll love that.

Go to plainbowl.com.

That’s plain, like airplane, plainbowl.com.

But yeah, I mean, also visualize failure.

Like, I mean, that’s also important, because you got to be real with yourself, like I was just alluding to a moment ago.

I mean, it’s true.

You got to accept the fact that sometimes, some days, even some weeks, you’re going to end up not really hitting your targets.

And that includes when it comes to the schedule that you shaped for yourself.

Like sometimes, that’s going to happen.

You got to visualize that failure, but you got to understand that even when you fail, when you don’t hit your targets, that you got to keep going.

Like the next week or the next day, you’re going to go back at it.

Like whether it’s the next day or maybe a few days later, or it could be next week.

Like this week wasn’t the best.

You didn’t stay on target.

Don’t worry about it.

That’s what you got to do.

You got to have like a contingency plan.

Oh, you messed up that week.

That’s fine.

Like plan for that.

Plan ahead.

That failures might happen.

And if they do, just realize that it’s okay.

You’re going to have a successful week the next week or successful couple days the next few days.

Just view it that way.

Because you got to accept that failures do happen.

I mean, that’s just a part of life.

And okay, another thing, and when it comes to that, is the fact that these strategies can also be applied to other things that you do.

And they’re definitely really good strategies in helping you ensure that you stick to a schedule or a plan.

So, I mean, you could apply those same concepts, those concepts I laid out in the last episode, as well as just now in this episode, to other things too.

But certainly it will help you with sticking to a fitness goal too, or a fitness plan.

So when it comes to a fitness plan, and definitely apply those kinds of things, and watch yourself really excel in your plan.

And yeah, you could apply it to other things too.

I mean, I’m sure you could figure that out on your own, but you see what I mean.

And okay, well, either way, so now I’m going to switch topics on to the topic of my views on electric cars and related thoughts.

And I’ll have to say, I mean, electric cars are ridiculous.

That’s my opinion.

If you think about it, it makes a lot of sense.

I mean, a lot of people or at least a decent amount of people agree with me.

Although some people would disagree.

But I mean, and another thing is like, I’m not going to go into history, but I just want to say like a quick reference.

Like, I mean, about 100 years ago, like the Ford Company actually had like, like an electric car basically, or something similar.

And I mean, it didn’t take off.

Or basically it was like some kind of like, it was a carbon neutral type car in comparison to gasoline powered.

Didn’t take off though.

But okay, now, I mean, then for like several decades, like gasoline was the main thing.

But okay, here we are now.

Ever since like about 2015, like electric cars really have been like being, I mean, they’ve been pushed by the governments of the world.

And like, I mean, it’s all related to climate change.

And like global warming and all this nonsense.

I mean, it’s ridiculous because, I mean, if you actually look into it, climate change isn’t really real.

And okay, I’ll talk about that in another episode.

So, I mean, I’m not going to explain fully why I say that.

I mean, if you disagree with me on it, okay, well, wait for the coming episode a few, maybe like a couple months from now when I actually get on that topic.

But either way, I mean, in general though, like, I mean, electric cars like there’s so many bad things about them.

I mean, there’s not enough fueling stations.

And I mean, they’ve been around like they’ve been pushed by the governments.

And like, I mean, that’s local, like whether it’s municipal or statewide province wide or at national levels, they’ve been pushed by these governments for like at least a decade now, maybe even slightly more, maybe could even go back to like 2008, 2010 or so, right?

So it’s been a decade or slightly more.

And it’s like ridiculous because I mean, it’s been a long time now, a decade or more, slightly more, that’s quite a while.

And what have they done?

Like they’re pushing these electric cars and literally there’s barely any fueling stations on top of that.

I mean, when you got a gasoline car, how long does it take to chart?

I mean, to put that gasoline into that tank, I mean, to give you a full tank after an empty, like that’s like three minutes, right?

Like maybe five minutes, depending on the size of your gas tank.

Like if you got a big truck, I guess it takes longer, obviously.

But like, I mean, okay, up to five minutes, six minutes, yeah, to really pump it up.

But like, I mean, think of that, with an electric car, it takes like a whole hour or more.

Generally, on average, about an hour, like an hour.

That’s a huge amount of time that you waste.

Like, it’s insane.

Like, I mean, comparing six minutes to a whole hour, that’s just preposterous.

I mean, it just makes driving an electric car to be ridiculous.

I mean, when you compare it to actually driving a gas-powered car, for that reason alone, I mean, that’s like a huge one right there.

I mean, you’re wasting time when you’re driving an electric car because of that.

That reason right there, the refueling, whether it’s, I mean, comparing the refueling of gasoline to refueling of electricity.

But okay, I’m going to finish off on that topic and then switch topics as I finish off this episode.

After this quick break and then on this break, I’m going to say, riding a motorcycle like thunder on a highway is like a dream.

Gripping handlebars, cool wind, gorgeous views, what life’s about, is soul food, look good while doing it.

Get great motorbike clothing at planebowl.com.

That’s plane like airplane, planebowl.com.

But okay, to finish off on that topic about electric cars.

Yeah, so there’s a lot of inconveniences involved with having an electric car and then there’s other factors as well.

I mean, other than the inconveniences that I already referenced.

There’s other factors too which make it so absurd that the government is literally pushing this.

Like, for example, you think like, oh, you’re saving the earth when you’re fueling up your electric car with electricity from the ground or from an electric plug.

Really, are you saving the earth?

Because where does that electricity come from?

I mean, people think, oh, because my car doesn’t have no exhaust fumes, it’s really like carbon neutral.

Is it?

I mean, where does the electricity come from?

Yeah, it comes from a power plant.

I mean, some of those power plants are coal power.

Some of them are natural gas power plants.

Yeah, and some of them are nuclear power.

So, I mean, especially in the case of coal power plants and natural gas power plants.

I mean, your electricity is still contributing to these things that they’re claiming is so bad for the earth, like that coal and that natural gas fumes from those power plants.

So, are you really saving the earth when you get your electricity into your car from those types of power plants?

No, you’re not.

It’s ridiculous.

You’re still contributing to pollution.

So, if you actually believe that you’re saving the earth doing this, you’ve got it all wrong.

And whoever lied to you about it has been brainwashing you.

And I mean, some politicians are literally dumb people.

So, some of them actually believe the BS that they’re selling you.

Others are actually very intelligent people, and they know that they’re scamming you with this.

And they know this whole situation, and they don’t give it.

They don’t care.

They don’t care.

I’m not trying to swear, so there you go.

They don’t care.

But, either way, so that’s what it really comes down to.

It’s a big scam.

And like, I mean, there’s other factors too, but I’m not, I mean, the last couple episodes, I’ve been really pushing my timing a little bit longer than I really am aiming for.

So, I mean, that’s all I’ll get to when it comes to those factors.

But I’ll have to say that it’s just ridiculous.

And another thing I want to add to it though, is like driving an electric car, like electric cars especially when you’re outside of one, they sound really strange.

They sound like spaceships, like flying saucers.

They make this weird sound like, whoo, well, I’ve been inside of electric cars too.

So, it’s weird.

The way that they design them is inside.

You don’t really hear that sound.

So, at least that’s a fact.

So, you don’t have to be annoyed by that strange sound, but you’re making strange noise pollution everywhere, and the people outside of your car are hearing it, and it just sounds really weird.

I mean, another thing is that, I mean, even inside the car, you don’t get that, mm, you know, that sound of a gas car.

And that sounds really cool.

That sounds really nice inside and outside.

And I mean, to be a driver of an electric car, you’re missing out on that.

I mean, that’s a real sound.

That sounds beautiful.

And you’re not getting that when you’re in an electric car.

So that’s another thing I have to say about electric cars.

And then one last thing I want to say, though, is that, I mean, talking about electric cars, of course, I mean, you can’t ignore the fact that Tesla is like the big name in electric cars.

And I mean, I personally, obviously, do not like electric cars for various reasons, especially those that are highlighted right here.

But I’ll have to admit that, I mean, if you’re going to get an electric car, then get a Tesla.

Because honestly, I respect Elon Musk.

And that man is a great man, one of the legends of our time.

And I mean, if you’re going to ignore the points I made and still get an electric car, then at least get a Tesla.

Because, I mean, that guy is a legend for various reasons.

I mean, what he’s been doing.

I mean, he hasn’t been that great, like maybe a decade ago until like more recently, like about like five years ago or so until now.

But he’s really like grown as a person.

So, I mean, I just had to add that caveat.

I mean, I would never get an electric car.

But if I had like if I had a different mentality, but I still had a general similar mentality to mine.

And I definitely if I’d be getting an electric car, I’d be getting a Tesla, though.

But either way, no way.

If I was getting a car, I’d definitely realistically, no matter what, regardless, won’t get an electric car for the reasons I said.

But I do respect Elon Musk.

Either way.

So, okay, the last topic that I’m going to talk about is, okay, about an article I read and it was titled, A Mom Said No to Strangers, I mean, A Stranger’s Child and Got an Unexpected Reaction.

And was she wrong?

Well, this was in relation to something I mentioned a few episodes back, like probably like 20, 40 episodes back.

And that was maybe it was 30 episodes, whatever, something like that.

And that was about gentle parenting.

And when I first read about it, because I wasn’t fully aware of it, although it kind of makes sense because I’ve heard of similar things before, but I never heard of the term before.

And that is gentle parenting.

And in many ways, gentle parenting is like better than like the worst form, which is like where a parent literally lets their child do whatever they want with no consequences.

Like that’s a that’s a ridiculous form of parenting.

But at least with gentle parenting, there is some consequences.

It’s like a balance between like consequential and being strict compared to being all like you have freedom child maximum freedom, you know, that’s like the two the two sides, right?

But then gentle parenting is supposed to be right in the middle.

But okay, so this woman though, she ended up, I mean, that’s what this article was based on.

She ended up like at some place, like I don’t know, like it was like maybe an airport or maybe it was a bus station, something like that.

I forget the exact detail in those regards, but she was just sitting down and suddenly like, I mean, she looks at her purse and boom, this child is like rummaging all through her stuff in her purse.

And the woman, of course, said, what’s wrong?

Or she actually said no, she said no to the child.

And guess what?

After she said that, the child’s parent came up to the woman and boom, there was an argument.

Like, why are you saying no to my child?

Like you shouldn’t be doing that.

And basically the article writer gave it from both perspectives, but the article writer at the same time was hinting at the fact that she had some compassion or some understanding for the parent and maybe the woman was a little wrong.

And you know what I have to say that there is no maybe in that situation.

If it’s your own property, whether you’re a woman with a purse or you’re a man, like maybe you got a backpack or some kind of shopping bag.

Well, regardless, you got something with some items, personal items inside.

And obviously you don’t want a child going through it.

And it doesn’t matter.

I don’t care how a parent is wanting to raise their child.

If a child ends up going through personal stuff, like that person should have every right to say no.

And it doesn’t matter how that parent wants to raise their child.

Whether it’s like crazy parents who literally let their child do anything with no consequences or gentle parenting.

I mean, like you got to think of it that way.

If you’re a parent that’s doing gentle parenting or even worse, you’re a parent that’s just letting your child do whatever.

But even gentle parenting, like you got to understand, you got to look at it from the perspective of that person, that adult that you never met before.

Like you got to have respect for that person.

You can’t let your child just disrespect random people.

Like that’s just absurd.

And just hearing about the fact that some gentle parents would have the audacity to argue with people that have the proper mindset of saying no to that child.

Like it just makes me look at gentle parenting in a more negative light.

Like how dare anybody have that type of audacity?

You got to respect your fellow adults.

Like I mean, that’s not your friend.

You don’t know that guy.

You don’t know that woman.

You better not get angry at that person for saying no to your child.

If your child has the audacity to go through their stuff, that’s just ridiculous.

But okay, so now that’s all I have to say about that.

And that’s the end of this episode.

Episode number 70.

Well, actually, yes, 73, with me, your host, Phil Defiance.

And I’ll always say that I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.

And until next time on my show, The Electric Current Rundown, well, have a good one.
