Welcome to The Electric Current Rundown Podcast, episode number 19.

And I’m your host, Phil Defiance, and I’ll always say I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.

And on this episode, I’m going to continue talking about where I left off on the topic of a story involving a forensic scientist who specializes in bugs to help her solve murder cases, as well as how we all should be striving to improve ourselves.

And lastly, info on the world’s only Chile Pepper Research Center.

So let me get right into it.

I mean, so continuing on where I left off on the topic of that story involving a forensic scientist who specializes in bugs to help her solve murder cases.

She was doing this presentation I referenced in the last episode about bugs.

I mean, as she was finishing off her university studies.

And I mean, there was a famous murder case that happened in the country of Italy at that time.

And like, I mean, they didn’t really know what to do about it because they were thinking that it was a suicide or something along those lines.

But the family, yeah, yeah, a suicide, actually.

And it was like a drowning.

And the family of the woman involved that died, her family was saying that there’s no way that she would commit suicide.

They knew her too well.

And they knew that this woman would never ever commit suicide.

They kept saying, I mean, insisting it.

So there was a big controversy in the country of Italy about that.

And this was around the year 2015 or something around then, maybe 2012, 2015, something like that.

And so, I mean, there was controversy surrounding that.

And I mean, this one detective who saw this presentation, this woman was making about bugs and things like that, and how they can help in murder cases with evidence discovery.

And so he was like thinking to himself, like maybe this woman has a point.

I mean, maybe there’s more to it that we haven’t really looked into.

Like he was thinking, like, I mean, maybe bugs could like lead to proof that maybe this actually was a murderer rather than a suicide, like how they were originally presuming because the family kept insisting that this woman would never kill herself.

And I mean, she had an abusive boyfriend.

I mean, at first, they weren’t fully aware of that.

But the family was saying things like they suspect that maybe it was him who killed her.

And I mean, there was no hard evidence at that time linking him to being the actual murderer.

And that’s why they assumed it was a suicide.

But then so this guy, this forensic detective, after having seen that presentation from that woman, he really thought about it.

And then after a couple of weeks, he went back to her and said, maybe you can help us in this investigation.

And she ended up, I mean, this was the big thing that broke her into the industry and made her like kind of a big name in Italy and even worldwide at this point.

Nowadays, she actually works in Australia.

I mean, she can look up this whole story and you could find it out too.

But either way, I mean, it’s interesting.

I mean, so the whole thing is that once the guy came to her, that detective about this topic that he saw her presenting at the university, she ended up getting on the case and doing some investigation on, I mean, in relation to bugs.

And she ended up finding some evidence that was starting to connect.

It’s a possibly be a murder, I mean, connected to the ex-boyfriend, I mean, with like bugs, like related to the water of the lake where she drowned at.

And so they did tests on his clothing, and then they ended up realizing that, yeah, the bugs on him, like larvae, like bacteria and all that stuff, like was in relation to the same types of bug activity from around that lake.

So like, I mean, it was like intriguing, I mean, how they ended up being able to crack this murder case based on this kind of science.

I mean, people like get grossed out by bugs, right?

But like, I mean, when it comes to murder cases, it could actually be helpful.

So that’s intriguing, definitely.

But okay, I’m just going to finish off on that topic right after this quick break and on this break, I’m going to say everybody likes really good designs as well as knowing your online order will come quickly.

Go to plainbowl.com to get the designs you desire.

Your order will come quick like you expect.

And while you want quick delivery, you’ll have patience for your order because when it does come, you’re going to have the kind of design you’ll love.

It will make you stand out and people will notice and you’ll love that.

Go to plainbowl.com.

That’s plain, like airplane, plainbowl.com.

But anyway, so like so finish off on that topic.

I mean, it’s actually like really intriguing that that kind of thing can actually help a murder case.

If other forensic tools cannot lead to results.

And that’s what led to that woman becoming like a famous forensic scientist in the country of Italy.

And she ended up going to Australia.

Now she’s like a big name all across the planet.

So I mean, I just found the whole thing to be quite intriguing.

But now, OK, now I’m going to switch topics to how we also be improving ourselves.

I mean, think of it this way.

Like, I mean, I’ve touched on this kind of topic before, but now I’m going to expand on it, too.

I mean, the thing is, like after COVID happened, like, I mean, a lot of people lowered their own standards of themselves and like decided to give up on life.

Many people, I mean, you notice people like having mental health issues.

That’s another thing that’s connected to it, too.

I’m not saying that you yourself are like that, but I mean, a lot of people, including people I know, even myself, at one point during COVID to a degree, like a lot of people have had this happen, where they kind of like lowered their own standards of themselves and stop trying as hard in life because like, I mean, it felt like things just like, I mean, why try so hard anymore?

I mean, like, I mean, the economy went downhill, like opportunities had decreased.

So a lot of people were like feeling like they don’t really want to try so hard no more.

And like, I mean, like, like similar to what I talked about on a really recent episode about how companies had lowered their own standards.

I mean, it’s also connected to personal individuals.

I mean, like, I mean, if individuals decide to lower their own standards for themselves, of course, I mean, companies are going to do the same kind of thing.

And the same thing with governments, even all across the world have lowered their standards.

Well, it’s time to up those standards, up your game up yourself too.

I mean, try to get to do better, to have a better quality of work, try to be more ambitious.

That’s what you got to do.

I’m trying to give you motivation.

That’s how I feel about my own self too.

Let’s all try, because things are changing for the better, and it’s time for all of us to try our best, to improve on our quality of work and our own ambitions and goals, trying to obtain a better quality of life for all of our own selves.

And this is going to help everyone in society, because as long as people are trying their best, they end up improving themselves, their own outlooks, their own lives.

And then as a result, if a lot of people are doing the same kind of thing, suddenly it affects society as a whole.

It will be a beautiful thing.

Let’s all give it a try.

I mean, that’s what you really should be striving for.

I mean, don’t settle for less, sell for more, aim for more.

That’s what you got to do in this life.

I mean, why live if you’re not going to try?

I mean, that’s just the way it is, especially here in North America.

We all have freedom, unlike the rest of the world.

So, I mean, with that freedom, we should be taking advantage of it, because we’ve been given something the rest of the world could only dream of.

That’s why so many immigrants come over here, because they want this freedom.

It’s not just about the economy.

It’s about the freedom.

And so we have that.

That’s our own, like, birthright right there.

So why not take advantage of that freedom?

With that freedom, you can do a lot.

So do it.

I mean, just strive for the best.

Strive to improve yourself.

Strive for perfection.

That’s the way you got to think of it in life.

And that’s what you got to be doing.

I mean, especially after what COVID brought to all of our lives.

I mean, it’s so true.

You got to improve now.

I mean, it’s not COVID no more.

You got to get out of that mentality you had.

You got to strive for the better.

It’s a fact.

And as long as you actually incorporate that into your own life, suddenly things are going to improve, and suddenly everything is going to look a lot better.

I mean, just aim for that, right?

Okay, but either way, so I’m going to go on this quick break before I finish the episode.

So, and obviously, I still got one more topic to talk about.

But okay, on this quick break, I’m going to be talking about, I mean, I’m going to say, plain, bold clothing.

We live life to the fullest.

What happened last time you went to a party?

While on a great adventure, you’ll be the life of the party with clothing like our authentic plain goose items.

You’ll get exuberant designs you’ll need.

We usually have some sales so you can save money to be like a goose on a plane on a flight to a great adventure.

Go to plain bold.com.

That’s plain like airplane plain bold.com.

But OK, I mean, so just try your best to improve.

Try to figure out ways to improve.

And then suddenly you’re on the right track.

You’re going to fly to extents you could have never imagined before.

Just do it.

But either way, so on the last topic I’m talking about, which is the world’s only Chile Pepper Research Center, is based on an article I read about this facility in New Mexico.

It was quite intriguing.

I mean, I never even heard of such a thing, but it makes a lot of sense.

I mean, Chile Peppers are like famous.

I mean, people like a lot of hot foods nowadays.

And this place has been around for about like 100 years.

I mean, it’s the world’s biggest, like I said.

So I mean, no wonder.

I mean, it’s huge and like they’ve been around for 100 years.

And back like about 100 years ago, when they first were operating, like back then, the American populace, I mean, obviously it’s in New Mexico.

So it’s American.

But the American populace was not very entrusted in hot foods.

Back then, they had to settle for, I mean, when it comes to creating domestic products, they had to settle for the less hotter variety.

But more recently, due to influences like Mexican culture, and I love good taco personally.

And obviously a lot of people do, and I’m sure you do.

And if you aren’t like that, that’s fine.

I mean, some people don’t like hot food.

But there’s no denying that a lot of people like hot food more than a hundred years ago, right?

I mean, that’s what the trend lines have been showing, and it makes a lot of sense.

I mean, I love hot food myself.

But like, I mean, so over the course of the last century, this facility in New Mexico, this Chile Pepper facility, the biggest in the world, they have like changed their strategies.

They ended up making hotter chili peppers to reflect the movement of the industry when it comes to that.

And nowadays they’re making some really hot stuff, like really, really hot stuff, like stuff from India, like inspired, like the ghost peppers and habaneros and things like that.

And so they’ve been breeding like the peppers to be even hotter.

And like, I mean, they don’t just do that.

They also do like ornamental chili pepper type things.

Like I mean, Christmas just passed too, right?

So like, and we’re entering the new year, but like, I mean, that’s a holiday type thing, you know?

So yeah, they do ornamental type stuff, like wreaths and like things like that Christmas related with chili peppers, like, you know, like dried, pretty cool looking stuff, like colorful stuff.

It looks beautiful.

And they even do it for Easter, which is coming up and like other things too, other holiday type ornament type things.

So that’s actually pretty cool too.

I mean, I thought of that when I was reading about it, like, wow.

And so this facility in New Mexico really has been doing a lot of like cool things with chili peppers.

And I love a hot like recipe, some food with hot peppers on it.

So, I mean, I love that too.

So it’s beautiful what they’re doing with that.

And also it’s really cool what they’re doing with the ornamental type chili peppers.

I mean, yeah, I found it to be quite like cool, you know?

So I had to talk about that.

And I mean, just cause like it was Christmas season that just passed.

So, I mean, take a look at what they do.

Look it up on the Internet.

And yeah, actually, I’ll provide a link to that article.

I mean, if I could find it, because I read the article a while ago.

But I mean, if not, I’ll try to provide a link to that so you could look into it, too.

I mean, look at the ornamental stuff.

That’s some really cool stuff.

Take a look.

But I mean, talking about the holidays at the same time, I hope everybody that’s listening to this had a great holiday season.

I mentioned a couple of episodes back, Merry Christmas, but obviously already passed.

But I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas.

And also, I mean, I’m even doing a promo about it.

But yes, I might as well say it here, too.

And when it comes to the New Year, I hope everybody has a happy New Year.

So, I mean, it’s actually funny.

It’s like, isn’t that an interesting coincidence?

I mean, I wasn’t planning to talk about that.

But I mean, yeah, they do ornamental Chile Pepper type things, and it was a holiday season.

What a coincidence.

But either way, I hope you all have a happy New Year and that you have a great Merry Christmas, too.

But either way, now this episode’s done.

And so that’s episode number 19 with me, your host, Phil Defiance.

And that’s The Electric Current Rundown right here.

And I’ll always say, I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.

And till next time, have a good one.
