Podcast episode number eight, and I’m your host, Phil Defiance. I’ll always say I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.
How Humanity Has Changed the Food It Eats
What I’m going to be talking about on this episode is how Humanity has changed the food it eats, and also unique methods deployed for caring for some in danger species. So, okay, and this is a bonus episode, so it’s going to be like 10 minutes, so let me get right into it.
So, on the topic about how Humanity has changed the food it eats, I mean this is in relation to processed foods. I mean it gets a bad rep when you hear processed food, you automatically mean a lot of people anyway feel like, “Oh no, it’s not good for you.” I mean, yeah, that’s a good point. I mean, heavily processed food is not good for you. But I mean, the fact is that processed food has been around for thousands of years. A lot of people don’t even fully understand this. It’s been a human tradition for a very, very long time.
The Truth About Processed Food
I mean, what is processed food? I mean, yeah, I mean these days like heavily processed when you think about that, like you think about in a factory like with a serious process right? I mean, but like I mean dating back like thousands of years, like even hundreds of years, like way before the Industrial Revolution. I mean, processed food has been a human tradition because like what is it really? I mean, like back in those days, way before the Industrial Revolution, like what it was was just like mixing food together, like I mean like breaking it down, like breaking up seeds, like mixing food together like spices and other ingredients, like I mean just making a meal according to a recipe. I mean, that’s basically processed food too. So, like I mean if you make food according to a recipe yourself in your own kitchen, you’re actually processing food yourself, literally. So, it’s like funny, so I mean, yeah, processed food gets a bad reputation, but like not all processed food is bad for you.
I mean, whether it’s your self-processing it or I mean it could be like mildly processed food that you bought from a store. I mean, as long as it’s not heavily processed then it’s not bad. I mean, you shouldn’t just like feel like all of it is bad for you. I mean, just avoid the stuff that’s heavily processed because obviously heavily processed food can give you cancer and other things. So, I mean that’s what you want to avoid but like I mean mildly processed food is okay. Like that’s the truth, that’s what it comes down to.
But Okay, I'm Going to Continue on That Subject
But okay, I’m going to continue on that subject cuz I have a couple more things to say about that. The Truth About Processed Food
Okay, so the other things I wanted to say on that subject about processed food is like I mean it’s really intriguing too. I mean, a lot of people don’t even know that like it’s been a human tradition for thousands of years to have processed food. It’s just because I mean people don’t really fully understand like the full details of what processed food really is, anyway right? But like I mean that’s actually a fact. I mean, it’s a human tradition, so like I mean it’s connected to like the manipulation of our surroundings and like even God told us to like have that kind of like control over the Earth because he gave it to us right? But like I mean so like it’s all connected to human nature, like I mean look at the buildings we build and like all the Technologies we’ve created, like it’s all just connected.
Unique Methods Deployed for Caring for Endangered Species
Okay, so now I’m going to talk about unique methods deployed for caring for some endangered species. This was in relation to like an article I read about what’s going on in Hawaii and the fact of the matter is that they have like really unique species of snails and I mean like a long time ago, like decades ago, they used to have like so many snails abundant in Hawaii, like they were all over the place, like it was like they decorated the trees like as if it were like a Christmas tree, like it looked really beautiful actually, um, but okay, I’m going to continue on that topic in a moment.

Finishing Off the Episode
Okay, so now let me just finish off this episode, continuing on that topic, I mean those snails in Hawaii, like they’ve become like a bit endangered over the last few decades, and it um was in relation to like invasive species and actually in regards to that it was actually an invasive species that they introduced um it was a snail from Florida, yeah, I mean because of something else like another endangered species, and so they wanted to like get rid of that one with this next one, and then it created a huge problem because this next one from Florida has been eating the snails the local snails, and now like I mean on top of like other things related to human activity, and now they got a big problem, like all sorts of snails that were local have become endangered, so like it’s like craziness, like it’s actually kind of sad when you think about it, I mean especially like I saw photos of some of these snails, like they were actually pretty good-looking things, like they had some beautiful colors and things, so of course, I mean they want to save those species from becoming extinct, so I mean it’s intriguing, but okay, I mean I’m going to finish off on that subject on my next bonus episode that I’m going to release in a couple of days.
