Welcome to The Electric Current Rundown podcast episode number 68.
And I’m your host, Phil Defiance, and I’ll always say I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that could spark fires on the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.
And what I’m going to be talking about in this episode includes a nerdy topic, some intricacies involved with website development from my experiences my early days till now.
And then I’m going to be talking about a topic from my girlfriend on fast food restaurants, my favorites, and a comparison and related thoughts.
So to start the show with the topic of a nerdy topic, some intricacies involved with website development from my experiences my early days till now.
I’m going to have to say, I mean, well, if you go back many episodes back, like, on the episode where I talked about my life journey up till now, I did reference some of this stuff, and probably in another episode.
But, I mean, now I’m going to get really more in depth into the topic, so that’s what I’m going to do.
Well, the thing is, when it comes to website development, especially modern day development, well, actually, I’ll get in to that angle in a moment.
But, okay, so, like, when it comes to my earlier experiences, I just was into HTML and XML and the styling type of language called CSS, which is known as Cascading Style Sheets.
That’s the kind of thing I was into in my early days.
I mean, that kind of stuff definitely helped in my later days, because those things are the core aspects of web design.
And then I got into server code with ASPNET, well, originally ASP, and then ASPNET, when it comes to Microsoft technologies.
And I really just kept at it with Microsoft technologies.
I ended up getting into SQL, SQL Server.
Like, these things are so important, though.
I mean, you got the HTML aspects, which I referenced just a moment ago.
Then you got the, I mean, of course, JavaScript is very important, too.
And those things are, I mean, JavaScript is one of the most important things when it comes to websites.
Definitely, I mean, it was important in the early days, and it’s important all the way until today.
One of the most important things on the entire internet.
But then, there’s like the backbone aspect or the server aspect, which was what I was doing with ASP, asp.net, and then there’s SQL.
And yeah, I mean, it was vital that I learned those things back, like in my early days, all the way to, of course, I expanded upon that years later.
And I mean, when it comes to my knowledge in that and my experience in it, and those things were extremely vital.
I mean, well, nowadays, I mean, as you know, I got my own podcast website, electriccurrentrundown.com, and then I also got my clothing store website, plainbowl.com.
Yeah.
Well, I mean, okay, I’m going to continue on on that topic.
I mean, in a minute after I, I mean, on that topic, I meant, but in a minute after I go on this quick break, and it’s funny that I just went to my store, plainbowl.com, because that’s what I’m going to talk about in this quick break.
And that’s this.
Everybody likes really good designs, as well as knowing their online order will come quickly.
Go to plainbowl.com to get the designs you desire.
Your order will come quick, like you expect.
And while you want quick delivery, you’ll have patience for your order, because when it does come, you’ll love your products that you buy, because of those beautiful designs.
And that’s plain, like airplane, plainbowl.com.
But either way, to continue on, on that topic of website development, adding to the points that I was just talking about, well, those types of technologies really brought me to where I am now.
And if I didn’t have all that experience, I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing now, not just with the podcast, but with the websites themselves.
I mean, the podcast website and then the clothing store website.
I mean, and like through the last few months throughout this year, I mean, at the start of this year, I thought my clothing store was just like good enough.
But then I realized there were certain things that I really had to address to make it even better.
And that’s what I’ve been doing through the four months of this year that we’re at right now here in April.
I’ve been doing a lot of like adjustments to both websites.
First, I do it on my store and then onto my podcast website.
And I mean, I’m sure if you’ve been to either website, you’ll have, I mean, especially if you’ve been listening to my show for a while now, I’m sure you’ve noticed certain things like improvements and performance of the, like technology of the website, of the podcast website.
And if you’ve been to my clothing store, I’m sure you’ve noticed the same thing.
And right now I’ve really like drastically improved that performance at my store.
And I’m about to do the same thing at my podcast website as well.
And I mean, all that experience that I was just referencing just a moment ago is exactly the kinds of things that brought me to be able to do such things.
I mean, in the first place, to create the websites to begin with.
But now to expand on that with adding next technologies that make the websites even better.
And yeah, all that experience brought me to be able to do that kind of thing.
I mean, now, like my websites are based on WordPress, and a lot of people know about that, especially people that do websites or are into business.
I mean, you don’t even got to be technically advanced to do WordPress.
I mean, you could even hire a developer to do some of that work, or you could just like keep it simple.
So that’s why a lot of people know about WordPress in general.
But I mean, since I’m technically advanced, of course, I now even use their…
I mean, it’s based on a type of technology called PHP, which is similar to ASPNET, which is a server code technology.
So I’ve been doing a little bit of PHP.
I mean, PHP is something that’s new to me.
But I’ve had the help of AI to really get things done there when it comes to that.
But regardless, it definitely is a learning experience when it comes to PHP.
But like, I mean, I see similarities with PHP and ASPNET, not necessarily when it comes to the language itself, but I mean, like certain aspects.
I’m not going to get right into like an advanced description on that, because I mean, that would take me a lot longer than I’d like to.
So, I’m just going to say that, and that’s all.
But I mean, what I just said, but okay, I’m going to continue on on that topic and then switch topics to finish off this episode after this quick break.
And on this break, I’m going to say, riding a motorcycle like thunder on a highway is like a dream.
Gripping handlebars, cool wind, gorgeous views, what life’s about is soul food.
Look good while life, I mean, look good while doing it.
Get great motorbike clothing at planebowl.com.
That’s plane, like airplane, planebowl.com.
And yeah, I mean, I’m recording five episodes in a row.
This is the third one.
And you probably, if you’ve been watching my other episodes, you probably are noticing that I’m stumbling on words a little bit more.
And that’s because I stood up all night, actually, working on my websites.
And normally, when I do my episodes, I try to get a good sleep in.
But I mean, I’ve been doing a lot of work lately.
But OK, I mean, that’s funny, too, because I’m on that topic.
OK, well, to finish up on that topic.
Yes, so I mean, to continue on where I left off on it, though.
Yeah, PHP is a different kind of a code, but I see some similarities in concept.
Regardless, I also am doing like SQL.
And these things are vital for website development, no matter what type of website you’re creating.
And then on top of that, wow, I’ve really got into Cloudflare.
I mean, I’ve heard of it before I really got into like creating these websites for the podcast and the clothing store.
I mean, I’ve seen it across the internet throughout the years, but I didn’t really understand.
Oh my gosh, this thing, this company is like insane.
They’re like amazing.
Like the type of quality that they offer, website developers and website operators is insane.
I mean, they provide some really powerful technologies for almost free or like small, small, small, small prices, like insanely powerful stuff.
And they got data centers all over the damn planet.
It’s like, wow, I couldn’t believe it.
The more I got into it with CloudFlare technologies, like it’s crazy.
Like, I mean, okay, I mean, when it comes to my website host, I mean, the type of money that’s being spent there is pretty big, actually.
I mean, not humongous.
I mean, I’m not rich, but a decent number.
But like, I mean, when it comes to CloudFlare, I mean, I’m barely spending a dime, like a little bit of money.
And it’s like insane because the type of value that they’re adding to the table is out of this world.
And they keep adding more and more things.
And the more I look into it and keep advancing my websites, especially using CloudFlare’s technologies, it’s insane the value that they provide.
Like, the more and more technologies I use from them, like, their workers’ technologies, like, insane.
And then their caching is insane.
Like, so much good things.
I have nothing but praise for that company.
And if you’re into website development or website operating, you better get into that CloudFlare.
Like, look into the features.
I mean, don’t just get into, I mean, don’t just apply the basic settings.
No, like, really get into it.
Then you’re gonna end up making your website a lot better.
I mean, well, maybe you’re competing against me, like a clothing store.
Well, maybe I just gave you some insights, like that you didn’t know.
But you know what?
That’s fine with me.
Go ahead and take advantage of the information I just gave you.
Why not?
I mean, I believe in competition anyway, and that’s just how I am.
So either way, I mean, plus, I mean, that information right there makes for a good episode.
And I mean, I’m not just a clothing store operator.
I’m also a podcaster.
So I mean, I’m trying to have some interesting episodes.
So I mean, that’s some good stuff right there.
But OK, so I’m going to finish off on this episode, switching topics.
And I’m going to talk about a topic from my girlfriend about fast food restaurants, my favorites and a comparison and related thoughts.
So I mean, my favorite fast food restaurants.
I mean, think about it too, when it comes to fast food.
Yeah, I mean, everybody likes good food.
And some fast food restaurants are actually pretty good when it comes to flavor anyway.
I mean, that’s one of the reasons why people go to fast food restaurants, because they got some pretty good recipes for their burgers or other things.
I mean, me, personally, I’m a big fan of burgers and pizza and tacos.
Like, those are my main things.
And even like sometimes like steaks and like fish type stuff, like lobsters and other seafood type items.
I’m not into sushi, though.
But and I’m not really a huge fan of Chinese.
I mean, years ago, I kind of was.
But I’m not really too big on it.
But I mean, a lot of people like going to fast food restaurants because it’s delicious food.
They use really good recipes regardless.
But like, I mean, I’ll just have to say that this episode is taking a bit longer than I was planning.
But the thing is that I’m going to continue on on that topic on my next episode.
But I’ll just finish off this episode just referencing a couple of my favorite fast food places, Wendy’s and A&W and even Arby’s.
Yes, those three right there.
They’re like my favorites when it comes to the big chains.
And yes, I’ll even expand on that topic when it comes to favorites and even give you some related thoughts on my next episode because I got to finish this one right here right now.
So that’s the end of this episode right here.
Episode number 68 with me, your host, Phil Defiance of The Electric Current Rundown.
And I’ll always say that I’m here to encourage those spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.
And till next time, have a good one.
