Welcome to The Electric Current Rundown podcast, episode number 60.

Now, I’m your host, Phil Defiance, and I’ll always say I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.

And what I’m gonna be talking about in this quick five-minute bonus episode includes a continuation of where I left off on the topic from my girlfriend on how to improve your intelligence with nostalgia.

And then I’m also gonna be talking about the conversational habits that build better connections is based on an article I read.

And so, I mean, when it comes to nostalgia and improving your intelligence, I mean, things like what I said before, like movies and like, I mean, other things, like there’s other things that you can go back, like from your childhood or younger years like eating at restaurants in your hometown.

I mean, that makes a lot of sense.

I mean, thinking about it like I was talking about that particular thing in a previous episode, but then there’s other things too, like revisiting places that you used to go to when you were young, like parks or like certain landmarks or certain like, I don’t know, like theme parks, other things like that, you know?

Then there’s like other things too, like I mean, revisiting people you haven’t seen in years, like old family, friends, like getting to know them again a little bit, if you haven’t seen them in a long time.

It brings back old memories.

And I mean, even if you didn’t have the greatest childhood, and sometimes people don’t really want to bring back old memories, but even if that is your case, I mean, still bringing back older memories generally can be a good thing.

I mean, at least reminiscing on the good things that happened.

I mean, even if you didn’t have the best childhood years or younger years, you still must have had some good experiences.

I mean, most people did.

Although obviously some people didn’t, and that’s unfortunate.

But like, I mean, in general, though, most people do have some good memories from those younger years.

And so, I mean, it’s always a good thing to like, bring yourself back to reminisce on those kinds of things.

And, you know, like, I mean, when you do that kind of thing, I mean, it’s proven by scientific studies on it.

And I mean, you could see for yourself.

I mean, do it.

And then you’ll see, like, I mean, when you do that kind of thing, it’ll actually improve your intelligence, because it like reopens up gateways inside of your brain, like bringing back like old experiences.

And that just like makes you more intelligence.

But okay, either way.

So I’m gonna switch topics generally, but finish off on that quickly after this quick break.

And so, okay, on this quick break, I’m gonna say when you order items from planebowl.com, when your order does come, you’re going to have the kind of design you’ll love.

It will make you stand out and people will notice.

And you’ll love that.

Go to planebowl.com.

That’s plane, like airplane, planebowl.com.

But, I mean, the thing is so, I mean, when you experience or re-experience old things from your past, like nostalgia, it definitely re-opens up like certain parts of your brain.

And I mean, it just makes a lot of sense that it has strong potential to increase your intelligence.

So, I mean, if you want to make yourself a little bit more smart, go ahead and try that.

I mean, sometimes it doesn’t have to be so often, but maybe once in a while, like once a year, like try to re-experience some things from your younger years.

It could be any of the things that I talked about, but I’m not going to re-reference them because I only got a couple more minutes.

But okay, now I’m going to switch topics to The Conversational Habits That Build Better Connections.

Because I mean, you want to build better connections.

It makes a lot of sense.

I mean, it makes you more social or more socially astute.

And a lot of people like that.

I mean, don’t you want to build good connections with the people you talk to, especially people that you like.

And if you want to have better conversational habits that build better connections between people that you interact with, you got to do things like asking questions.

And it doesn’t have to, I mean, it shouldn’t be like general questions like switching topics, because that’s not the type of questions that really work.

Things like, and this is based on a like proper article I read, so it makes a lot of, I mean, trust me, it was based on studies.

So, I mean, it’s not really switch topic type questions, it’s more like follow up questions on like what your conversational partner was talking about, like follow up on what they were talking about, and ask questions, make them talk more about it, get them to elaborate, then it creates a better connection between you and the person you’re talking to.

And another thing is having empathy.

I mean, like a lot of the time people, like when they’re talking to someone, like, I mean, they may not be able to, like, put themselves into the shoes of their conversation partner.

And sometimes they feel like, I mean, they don’t feel empathy towards the person they’re talking to.

And like, I mean, you got to like block that out, because, I mean, if you want to have better connections with the people you talk to, especially people you like, like, you got to have more empathy towards them.

And if you’re not having enough empathy, then you really should really practice having more empathy with those that you talk to, because that will build a stronger connection with people you talk to.

That’s definitely something that makes a lot of sense, right?

But okay, I’m going to even talk a little bit more about that, but I’m going to continue on on the whole topic, because there’s a couple more, like, big points on this whole topic on my next episode, but either way, that’s the end of this episode, episode number 60 of The Electric Current Rundown with me, your host Phil Defiance, and I’ll always say that I’m here to encourage a spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.

And till next time, have a good one!
