Welcome to The Electric Current Rundown podcast episode number 40.

And I’m your host Phil Defiance, and I’ll always say that I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.

And what I’m going to be talking about in this episode includes a continuation of where I left off on the topic of could an ancient mega shark still lurk in the great blue seas?

And then I’m going to talk about an overarching general topic of the importance of free speech.

And then I’m lastly going to talk about Jimmy Carter, the 39th US president and noted humanitarian and how he died recently in a quick look at his life in general.

So, OK, let me get right into it.

And OK, so, I mean, to continue on where I left off on the topic of could an ancient mega shark still lurk in the great blue seas?

Yeah, that’s a megalodon.

And it’s actually funny because, I mean, like around the year 1850 or so, that’s when that shark got its first name, and it was similar to the current name.

Like, I can’t really fully remember the exact name, but it’s like some scientific variant on it.

But everyone has heard of that, I’m sure, at one point or another.

I mean, it’s a common thing thinking about it.

I mean, megalodon.

That’s a common name that people know it as, regardless of that scientific name.

But then they ended up changing that scientific name around the 1950s or so.

So that’s also an interesting thing about that species of shark.

And another thing about it is that it actually was humongous.

I mean, even today, we say that it was a huge shark, like really, really big.

But the thing is that, I mean, the thing is, back in the 1850s and around then, they actually thought it was even bigger than they think it is now.

And that’s interesting too.

I mean, they actually scaled down its supposed size.

I mean, apparently, originally, they thought it was like almost twice as big as they think it is now.

And then suddenly, around the 1940s or so, they ended up scaling it down for whatever reason.

I guess they decided that they felt that the original assumptions that were made about its size were incorrect.

And that’s why they had to change what they projected its actual size to be, which is also definitely an intriguing thing.

But, like, I mean, that’s a thing.

Why am I talking about the Megalodon?

I mean, it’s because of this article I read.

And apparently, some people in the fishing community still are looking for this thing, and they think that it still exists.

And scientists say that the only way that it could still be around, even today, despite its supposed extinction, is if it went deeper into the ocean, because actually, when it was a common species, like millions of years ago, as they say, it was more of a shark that was lurking around the shallow waters.

And I mean, because it used to eat like whales that would swim on more so shallow waters.

And like the only way that it could be in existence till today, is if it went deeper in the water, and that’s why they can’t find it.

And I mean, they say that if that’s the case, and it still exists in this form, and down deep down in the ocean, then it definitely must have shrunk in size.

So I mean, if they’re looking for this humongous Megalodon, and if they find the current version, if it still exists, it’s going to be a lot smaller than the big one that they like have on these models and things.

I mean, that’s interesting too, because I remember a few years ago, like maybe five, ten years ago, there was another shark, another ancient shark that they thought was completely extinct.

And then they found a living specimen of that species in Japan, in like the waterways internally inside of the country or something like that.

And so like it was a really big discovery to find this shark that was extinct.

So, I mean, a shark that they thought was extinct, still living, extinct for millions of years, apparently, until they found that.

So like, I mean, it could happen again with this species right here, the Megalodon.

I mean, it’s actually possible.

You never know.

And if it happens, it’ll be a shock to the scientific community.

But obviously, it makes a lot of sense.

I mean, for it to have gone deeper in the ocean for whatever reason.

And I mean, if that’s actually what happened, then you’re going to end up finding a smaller shark.

I mean, still a descendant of that family, but obviously not the same humongous Megalodon that people know about.

So that’ll be interesting if that ever happens.

But a lot of scientists don’t believe that that’s even possible and they think that it’s completely extinct forever.

So who knows what happens with that?

But like, I mean, some people are still looking into that, just trying to find it.

That’s the thing.

But okay, so now I’m going to switch topics.

But okay, before I do that, I’m going to go on this quick break.

And on this break, I’m going to say, at plainbowl.com, we have an expanding catalog of high quality clothes and consumer goods.

And when I say we, I mean me, actually, as I’ve mentioned in other episodes.

It’s all me.

I should update that text.

But either way, yes, go there and get some cool looking items.

I mean, I’m expanding the store to adding new features, making it faster, but either way, I mean, OK, I’ll talk more about that in the future.

Either way, I want to continue on the main topics of this episode.

So, I mean, OK, switching topics on the general overarching cat, I mean, topic of the importance of free speech.

So, I mean, OK, so like, I mean, think about it.

Recently, up till Trump’s reelection, like, I mean, the media has been like not only lying in absurd amounts, like, it’s like unheard of what they’ve been doing and they continue doing that.

But I mean, on top of that, they view like people that have free speech on the Internet, like, I mean, content creators like myself and many, many, many others as a threat to their dominance.

I mean, obviously they feel that way because, I mean, why are they censoring?

They wouldn’t be censoring if they didn’t view people that had their own voice as a threat to their business and not just themselves in the mainstream media industry, but also even the government.

I mean, obviously, the government’s connected.

I mean, look at that.

Like, the US.

Supreme Court gave Joe Biden’s administration the ability to, I mean, they let them to get away with directing companies like Facebook to censor some information.

So, like, I mean, that’s what it comes down to.

The government’s a part of it, too.

Censorship.

I mean, censorship is not good.

And like, I mean, OK, so now Trump’s president.

Beautiful.

I mean, for so many reasons, including this freedom of speech.

Yes.

I mean, because obviously Trump is pro freedom of speech and in general pro freedom, and that’s why he’s a populist president.

And that’s why people love him.

A lot of people anyway.

I mean, obviously, no way is everyone going to love the guy.

But like a lot of people do.

And I mean, this is one of the reasons.

I mean, not the only one, obviously, but this is one of them.

And I mean, so like, I mean, under Trump’s presidency, and we get another four years of him, and hopefully another four on top of that.

But either way, let’s go one step at a time, just for right now.

And regardless, the point is that like, and plus, I mean, we’re at the start of that.

That’s so beautiful.

But regardless, I mean, the guy is about freedom of speech.

So that’s beautiful, because now we got freedom of speech with a new breath of air into it.

So that’s gorgeous.

But like, I mean, think about it.

I mean, Trump’s not going to be president forever.

Even if he gets another four years on top of this four years, ends up with three terms, even then, after eight years starting now, he’s not going to be president after that.

I mean, the guy can’t live forever either.

And that’s actually a funny thing too.

I mean, they say they want him, I mean, he wants to be a dictator, especially when he think, I mean, he said out loud that he wants a third term.

He said that even.

And so, like, I mean, they’re trying to compare him to a hip, I mean, a dictator.

But like, I mean, the guy can’t live forever.

But either way, I mean, okay, now, I’m just focusing on free speech.

So, so like, I mean, Trump is pro free speech, but he’s not going to be president forever.

So like, just think of that.

I mean, you never know what’s going to happen once he’s not president anymore.

And who knows, like, once the Democrats are president again, I mean, they’re going to try to like do the same thing that Joe Biden’s administration was a part of.

And not just that, I mean, Facebook itself and other companies like YouTube, especially YouTube, like they’re just doing it on their own.

They don’t even need direction from the government.

They’re literally censoring people.

I mean, like, that’s just improper.

I mean, in a society like ours, we are all about freedom and they shouldn’t be censoring, period.

I mean, that’s just absurd and ridiculous.

And OK, so I’m just going to finish off on that topic as I finish off the episode.

And also, I’m going to switch topics after this quick break.

But on this quick break, I’m going to say music is essential.

You’ll, I mean, you love to dance, party, sing along with songs.

And while doing many things, move and get in that groove.

Prove your love of music with music clothes from planebowl.com.

Not plane like airplane.

planebowl.com.

And so, OK, I’m going to finish off on the topic of free speech.

I mean, like when Trump’s not president anymore, I mean, sure.

Like, while he’s president is different, but once he’s not president anymore, I mean, just think about it.

I mean, yeah, they’re going to even while he’s president, they’re going to try to censor a little bit.

But once he’s not president anymore, like in four years or maybe eight, realistically, maybe just four, who knows, four or eight.

After he’s not president anymore, they’re going to try to do it even worse again, just like they did with Biden.

Unless if maybe some somehow they have a change of heart, who knows?

But I mean, there’s a good possibility that will happen again.

And so, like, I mean, if they try to censor you or censor people, like, I mean, what’s the answer?

The answer is to switch to platforms that aren’t censoring.

Like go to Rumble for your videos, like YouTube.

Forget about YouTube.

Once Trump’s not president anymore and they try to encourage censorship again, or if YouTube just tries to go against the grain and continue to censor, like people should be switching to Rumble because it’s pro-free speech and not just that.

I mean, if Facebook starts censoring again, whether it’s during Trump’s presidency or afterwards, or getting worse afterwards, and not just Facebook, the others as well, regardless of which platform.

And you should switch to a platform that is pro-free speech.

That’s what people should be doing because you shouldn’t be allowing this.

I mean, they’re literally treading on your freedoms.

And I mean, we live in a society where freedom is essential.

It’s a main staple of our society.

And we cannot let people to try to censor us because I mean, think about it, too.

I mean, there’s been Hitler’s and I mean, there’s been dictators in history like Hitler, Mao Tse-Tung, Stalin and others.

And what were they famous of?

I mean, other than their other atrocities, what were they famous of?

I mean, they were anti-free speech, pro-censorship.

They were burning books.

I mean, there’s a reason why dictators like those are against free speech and burning books.

It’s because they don’t want people to talk.

They don’t want people to talk bad about the government.

They don’t want people to have freedom of thought, freedom of speech.

And so, like, I mean, just think of that, like in a country like America or even Canada, like when the government tries to, or even companies, try to censor people and tell them, oh, no, you can’t say that.

Well, that’s wrong.

That’s wrong.

In a society like ours, that’s wrong, because we’re supposed to be free.

And like, is dictators that do the censoring?

You can’t let our government or even companies to behave like dictators like Hitler and Stalin and Mao Tse-Tung.

I mean, even if you disagree with someone’s speech, it doesn’t matter.

You should let them talk because that’s just what freedom is about.

And if you don’t like freedom, you can go ahead and move to China.

You could go ahead and move to one of these undemocratic EU countries because what do they got over there?

They got like the European Parliament.

I mean, that’s not even elected.

So if you don’t like free speech, go over there.

Get out of here.

Because that’s what it is.

We’re supposed to be free, and if you don’t like it, then move.

Either way, so okay, I’m going to finish off this episode on the topic of Jimmy Carter, the 39th US president and noted humanitarian who died in the end of last year, December last year.

And yeah, I mean, okay, a lot of people say, and I agree with that too, that he was one of the worst presidents in this effect.

I mean, inflation went up during his time, and the economy wasn’t doing good.

Stagnation, stagflation, all that stuff, like he, and like then there’s the Iran deal that went sour, all that stuff, like he couldn’t bring back hostages, all that stuff.

He wasn’t a good president.

It’s true.

Even his economic malaise speech, which also landed him to be extremely unpopular during his reelection campaign, all that stuff.

Yes, of course, he was a bad president.

It’s true.

Yes, one of the worst.

I mean, Joe Biden was probably the worst ever.

Obama wasn’t that great, neither.

Democrats, emblematic of the party.

But regardless, let’s talk about Jimmy Carter.

He wasn’t a great president.

It’s facts.

But I mean, after his presidency, and just looking back at his early years in life, he was like the son of a peanut farm owner, and he ended up being a peanut farm owner himself.

So he was a humble man, but then he became president, but his presidency was not that great.

But after his presidency, he was a humanitarian.

He was helping multiple countries.

He came in and helped them negotiate deals and helped make their livelihood better.

He literally was trying.

And it’s harsh.

I mean, definitely because he’s a Christian.

And I would have to say that I respect that fact.

And just looking at those details of his life, I would have to say that rest in peace to a man that generally was good, although he was misguided.

And as president, he did not do that great of a job.

But regardless, after his presidency, he proved that he actually is a good man.

And actually, so, I mean, I would have to say, rest in peace to a good man.

Not a great president, but a good man.

And like, I mean, in his last few years, like people saw him and they were like, oh, he’s not going to live much longer.

His last 10 years or so, I remember reading about that, too.

But like, I mean, he lived like a long time.

He even got to celebrate his 100th birthday.

And I remember hearing about that around like the end of last year, too, like a couple months before he died.

He was celebrating his 100th birthday.

And I was like, oh, good for him.

He lived a long life because I did hear about it.

The fact that he was a humanitarian and he did some good things.

So, I mean, it was I was happy for him.

And yeah, like that’s good that he lived a long life like that.

I mean, that’s beautiful.

See, I mean, he was a Christian.

This is what happens when you’re a good person.

Yeah, sometimes people make mistakes.

He wasn’t a great president, but he was a Christian and he tried to be good.

And see what happened?

God blessed him.

He lived a long life.

So that’s what I have to say about him.

But either way, that’s the end of this episode with me, your host, Phil Defiance of The Electric Current Rundown.

And I’ll always say that I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.

And till next time, have a good one.
