Welcome to the Electric Current Rundown podcast episode number 37.
And I’m your host Phil Defiance, and I’ll always say I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.
And what I’m going to be talking about in this episode includes a continuation of where I left off on the topic of why some people need less sleep.
It’s in their DNA.
And then I’m going to talk about Trump and the situation with Canada.
And then I’m going to talk about an incredibly clever hack for people who want to read more books.
So to continue on where I left off on the last episode on the topic of why some people need less sleep, it’s in their DNA.
Yeah, I mean, it’s true.
Like some people literally can get by with like four or five hours.
So like, I mean, because of that, it’s like something that’s obviously gotten some scientists like wanted to figure out why that is.
And actually, once they really looked into it, they found evidence that it’s actually a part of like their DNA.
Because obviously some people need eight hours.
So it makes a lot of sense that there would be something in the DNA that actually accounts for their ability to actually get by with only four or five hours.
So I mean, okay, so there you go.
They found it out.
Well, that’s a pretty interesting discovery.
And on top of that, I mean, because they discovered that in the DNA of people like that, they began to do some research on people like that, especially like these two people, his father and son.
But they’re also looking at others.
I mean, to figure out how to like create some kind of pharmaceutical pill or maybe even injection, and probably a pill though, where they can sell to people this type of thing that would enable them to actually get by with less sleep too.
So, I mean, that’s interesting.
I mean, at the same time, I mean, pharmaceuticals, so like, I mean, there definitely would be side effects.
I mean, that’s just common in that industry.
So like, I mean, it’s like a mixed bag right there, because like, I mean, people that would be entrusted in taking this kind of pharmaceutical, of course, there’s a benefit of being able to get by with only four or five hours of sleep.
But at the same time, I mean, next thing you know, you get side effects.
So it’s like, I mean, it’s like a bet that you’d be taking to get that kind of effect, using that kind of pharmaceutical, thanks to the research they’re doing on this kind of thing with the DNA, in these kinds of people.
So like, I mean, you never know what that’s going to end up like bringing.
But like, I mean, it definitely is something that’s intriguing.
Just thinking about it, how like, I mean, it’s actually a thing that’s related to the DNA.
So I mean, if you yourself or if you know somebody or some people that actually can get by with four or five hours of sleep, I mean, yeah, I mean, myself, I’m like that, like four or five hours a night, I can get by with that.
Sometimes I do all nighters.
So like, I mean, I’ve encountered it too.
Like, I mean, people telling me like, oh, you need eight hours of sleep or you need at least seven or so.
And like, I mean, I always tell them like, that’s me, that’s my choice.
That’s what I can get by with.
And so to me, because I’m one of these kinds of people generally, to me, it feels like it makes so much sense in the DNA.
So I mean, if you yourself know, I mean, if you have that ability or if you know someone with it, now you have an explanation for why you or that person actually is able to do that.
And maybe you shouldn’t be questioning that type of person or maybe when some, I mean, if you’re like that, if someone points it out to you that you should be getting more sleep, you should, I mean, when it’s someone else, and if you’re not like that, you should acknowledge that now, you know why they’re able to do that.
And you shouldn’t be so critical of them.
And if it’s yourself, if you find someone criticizing you about it, like telling you that you should be getting more sleep, you should tell them, hey, you know, there’s research studies out there that actually show that it’s a part of the DNA.
And that’s why I’m able to do it.
Or in the case of someone else, it’s like, now you understand, that’s why they’re able to do it because they got a little bit of a difference in their DNA when it comes to this kind of thing.
But okay, so now I’m going to switch topics right after this quick break.
And so on this break, I’m going to say, everybody likes really good designs as well as knowing their online order will come quickly.
Go to plainbowl.com to get the designs you desire.
Your order will come quick like you expect.
And while you want quick delivery, you’ll have patience for your order because when it does come, you’re going to have the kind of design you’ll love.
It will make you stand out and people will notice and you’ll love that.
Go to plainbowl.com.
That’s Plain like Airplane, plainbowl.com.
And so, I mean, OK, so I mean, to switch topics, I’m going to talk about Trump and Canada.
I mean, because that’s been in the news recently.
And honestly, I mean, the fact of the matter is that I didn’t really want to talk about Canadian politics during my show because, I mean, honestly, I plan on moving to America in the future.
And so, like, I mean, Canadian politics is a bit boring usually.
But right now, I mean, what’s been going on, it just forced me, as someone that lives in Toronto, which is a part of Canada, to talk on the topic.
And so, that’s what I’m going to do.
And I mean, think about it, like, Justin Trudeau has done a terrible job in Canada.
I mean, if you’re American, you don’t fully know the full aspects of that.
But I mean, let me just point it out.
I mean, Trump’s pointing it out.
I mean, like, immigrants flung over the border into the United States.
And like, I mean, there’s drugs too.
I mean, these are just examples of Justin Trudeau, the Prime Minister, and his problems, his corruption, his issues that are serious problems.
And that’s what Trump has issue with.
But I mean, you know, there’s a lot of Canadians in this country that I’m at as a Torontonian.
There’s a lot of Canadians over here that got pissed off when they heard that Trump was putting 25% tariffs on Canada.
And so like, I mean, they really felt like a patriotic and started booing the American national anthem at like sports games and like, oh, they felt like, oh, this is insulting that Trump would dare do that.
And like, I mean, it’s like ridiculous because I mean, Trump is a businessman.
I mean, that’s what he was.
Even when he wasn’t in office, remember, you know, this is his second term.
And what did he have between the two terms?
He had four years.
And what was he doing then?
Was he in politics?
Was he a governor or a mayor or something?
No, he didn’t go back to politics.
He only wanted to be president.
That’s the only political position he was interested in.
So what did he do during that four years?
Of course, he went back to his businesses.
And that’s what he’s been doing his whole life.
He’s been a businessman his whole life.
I mean, think of it, he’s even been in bankruptcies.
I mean, this man knows how to negotiate.
He’s a master negotiator.
And that’s what it all comes down to.
I knew it from the beginning.
I mean, because I am getting into business myself.
So I understand business.
He didn’t really want to impose 25% tariffs on the country of Canada.
He was using it as a negotiating tool, like leverage.
And that’s what it all came down to.
And when Canadians got all mad about Trump doing this 25% tariff proposal, I mean, they were just being stupid.
I mean, because they should have figured it out.
I mean, Trump’s a businessman.
He wasn’t really about putting 25% tariffs on the country of Canada What he was really trying to do was trying to force Justin Trudeau and the federal government of Canada to actually do what Trump wants them to do.
So he put this threat on their heads and said, if you’re not going to do what I want you to do, then you’re going to get 25% tariffs.
It was a leverage tool.
It was a negotiation tactic.
That’s all it was really.
That’s what it boils down to.
I mean, he has other points.
I mean, he doesn’t want cars being made in Canada as much as they are right now.
And he’d rather having places like North Carolina or Michigan having the cars made there.
But I mean, I’m sure at the same time, he has some respect for Canada.
I mean, he grew up in New York.
So I’m sure he’s going to allow some of the auto industry to be still Canadian-based as it is now.
I mean, I’m sure he’s trying to expand it in America.
And I respect that too.
I mean, like I said, I plan on moving to the country one day.
On top of that, I mean, I understand that he’s the president of America.
So it makes sense to in a way.
But like, I mean, think of that too, though.
I mean, if jobs went south of the border from here in Canada down to America, when it comes to the auto sector, I mean, obviously those jobs will be replaced and a new industry will come in because, I mean, Ontario, where I live, by the way, I mean, that’s where all these cars are made at, like the Canadian auto sector.
And I mean, we got highly skilled people here.
I mean, if the auto sector goes away or it ends up firing some people and not completely going away, I mean, those people will find new jobs because there’s a lot of skilled workers here.
I mean, new corporations will come in and they’ll want the people that are getting fired from there.
So, I mean, it’s not really that big of a deal.
I mean, that’s just the way that economics works.
That’s the way that capitalism works.
But either way, I mean, on top of that, like, I mean, the Canadians that have been like outraged that Trump are like misguided too, because, I mean, okay, well, I’m gonna finish off on that and then switch topics to finish off the episode.
But first, before I do that, I’m gonna go on this quick break.
So, on this quick break, I’m gonna say, okay, motor meth, motorist, don’t motivate like motorcyclists.
At planebull.com, we motivate and captivate and aura of dominance.
And you’ll have your own era of dominance while wearing one of our motorbike shirts.
So get one of those at planebull.com.
That’s Plane, like airplane, planebull.com.
But I mean, okay, so like the problem here in Canada, too, is that the fact that Justin Trudeau and his liberal government have been feeding billions of dollars into the Canadian mainstream media.
So basically, the Canadian mainstream media is a paid off propaganda arm of the Liberal Party.
And if you don’t believe that, I’m gonna provide a link to that.
On top of that, I mean, Justin Trudeau, when he first came into office in 2015, the guy had like $20 million dollars in his bank account today.
He’s got like $400 million dollars.
And I mean, that’s all connected to the fact that he’s had multiple corruption scandals as well.
I mean, over the last few years, while he was prime minister.
I mean, what the hell is that about?
You know, like obviously, he’s making money.
I mean, 20 million turns into 40 million.
I mean, 400 million while he’s prime minister.
There’s obviously something really corrupt going on.
That man is very corrupt.
And then he’s paying off the Canadian mainstream media.
I mean, that’s just like nuts.
Like that Canadian mainstream media is literally a brainwashing machine.
And Canadians that are watching this, if you’re in Canada watching this, just keep that in mind.
I mean, I’m providing the link to that and also providing the link to the 20 million turns to 400 million.
I mean, if you don’t believe it, check out the link.
And also, I mean, that’s just what it is.
So like, I mean, it’s just ridiculous.
Justin Trudeau shouldn’t be in power anymore.
I mean, the guy’s literally resigned and he should have stepped down.
But no, he’s still in power.
Like, it’s just absurd.
And but either way, when it comes to Trump, though, since I mentioned that too, I mean, the guy’s like a legend.
I mean, I can’t believe how good of a job he’s been doing already in just a short while since he became president again.
I mean, this second term of his is like making his first term look like nonsense.
I mean, yeah, he was great in his first term, but his second term, he’s even better than his first term.
It’s like ridiculous.
And I mean, this is his second term.
They stole the 2020 election from him.
That’s obvious.
There’s plenty of evidence of that.
And I feel that he should get a third term too.
I mean, just because they stole that 2020 election.
But I’m going to talk about that in another episode because that takes a lot of words.
And I don’t want to take up any more time because I do want to switch topics, but I do believe that he deserves a third term either way.
Either way, so I’m going to finish off this episode on the topic of an incredible, an incredibly clever hack for people who want to read more books.
So I mean, it comes down to this.
I mean, this article that I read about it.
So like, you know Facebook.
Like a lot of people use Facebook and you probably use it too.
And I mean, so like, when you go on Facebook, you go through all these like posts that people post and you go up and I mean, you go down, you go down the list of posts and memes and things like that.
And so like, I mean, that’s what you do on your Facebook.
And usually, I mean, sometimes people end up getting carried away with Facebook and like, next thing you know, they’re on Facebook for like an hour or two.
But a lot of the time, a lot of people at least have the intention and a lot of the time they succeed in going on Facebook for only like three, four minutes, going through a little bit of posts, like boom, boom, boom, going down, scrolling down, you know?
And then after three, four minutes, you’re like, you know what, I want to do something else.
So that’s what it really comes down to when it comes to reading books.
I mean, if you want to read more books, use that same tactic.
I mean, you don’t need to read like 40 pages out of the book.
No, you don’t have to.
I mean, because that’s intimidating.
That’s what makes a lot of people not want to read a book because they’re like, oh my God, like I open up this thing and then next thing you know, I’m going to spend two hours and I’m going to read all this information.
It’s too much.
I don’t want to go through all that.
And so like, I mean, if you don’t like that, then you don’t have to do it that way.
You could just go through like maybe one, maybe two pages a day, similar to what you do on Facebook.
Like only go through a three, four minute scroll down of posts.
And then next thing you know, a few weeks pass by and you’ve read like maybe 50 pages or 100 pages.
And it’s all because you’re reading a little bit here, a little bit there, the same strategy as you do when you go to Facebook.
And like, I mean, eventually you’re going to like it and you’re going to be like, you know what?
You can even replace going on Facebook with reading from that book and you’re going to love it.
I mean, because, you know, like reading books, especially a lot of people, I mean, some people, they like to read books.
And if you like to read books, but you always, I mean, you’ve been feeling like intimidated by reading a lot out of it because you felt like, oh, if I’m going to open it up, I’m going to read a lot.
Well, now you’re going to find a different way to do it.
And go ahead and try it out.
I mean, if you used to like reading books and you haven’t been reading books lately, then try this tactic.
And next thing you know, you’re going to really like it.
I really think it has good potential to help people when they want to read some books.
But either way, okay, so that’s the end of this episode, episode number 37 with me, your host, Phil Defiance from The Electric Current Rundown Podcast.
And I’ll always say I’m here to encourage the spread of intriguing knowledge that can spark fires in the minds of those seeking inspiration and truly improving the world.
And till next time, have a good one.
